Mailyne K. Briggs (she/her) is a producer and creative director with over a decade of experience in digital communications and media arts. A graduate of Algonquin College’s SME Management and Entrepreneurship program, Mailyne treats the "business side of things" as the essential backbone for her creative work.In 2013, she founded Kilam Media Inc., where she has produced and directed everything from documentaries and commercials to multi-cam livestreams. Having worked across the entire lifecycle of a film, from early-stage development to global marketing, Mailyne knows exactly what it takes to shepherd a project across the finish line.As a filmmaker, she co-produced and served as DP for the feature documentary I AM: Limitless, which premiered on CBC Gem’s Absolutely Canadian in 2021. She is currently developing her debut feature as a writer-director, Those Days of Summer, a 90s coming-of-age story set in Ottawa, and is in post-production on three short films.Currently, Mailyne is bridging borders by leading co-productions between Canada and the US. She is a dedicated advocate for safer sets, greener productions, and mental health care, and is committed to championing diverse representation across the industry.Outside of the studio, Mailyne is a mother, a published author, and an illustrator of the bilingual children’s book Manok (Chicken). A true multi-hyphenate, she released her first single, yuta, in 2025 and recently completed her first novella.
I love utilizing my creative skillset when it can make an impact. I particularly enjoy the challenge of meeting the marketing goals of non-profits, grassroots organizations, small businesses and artists, not only to help build their brands from the ground up, but do so within budget. I strive to help them future-proof through strategic and long-term campaigns, meaningful storytelling and repurposing content that can be used for e-commerce, grants and fundraising.

I realized when I was coming off of three weeks of vacation that I was burnt out. So this year has been gentler. I'm still working hard, but I'm tired and I have no idea how I managed to do everything I was doing before. In any case, here's what I'm up to.
Charlene, the short film, is now a proof of concept for a longer film. It's done being color graded and is being scored.
Beyond the Pause, a documentary and YouTube channel will have it's first interview go live this February.
I'm editing videos for the LA county about the fires that devastated LA in 2025.
I'm working on a grant to help fund the pre-production for my feature film, Those Days of Summer.
